The Huntleigh McGehee Commitment to Our Customers’ Privacy

In order to properly service your needs, we recognize that you entrust Huntleigh McGehee (“HM”) with a significant amount of personal information.  Rest assured that we go to tremendous lengths to protect the personal data of our clients.  You have an expectation of privacy and Huntleigh McGehee shares that expectation.  As a trusted consultant to our clients, this is a top priority, whether you are a current, potential or former customer (“customer”).

What Data We Collect and Why

Website Browsing
Huntleigh McGehee collects general information as you browse our site to help us diagnose problems with our server, administer our web site, and analyze broad demographic information about our visitors. The following information is obtained:

IP Address - We use IP addresses to measure site traffic. Your IP address is not linked to your customer information. Referral Site - If you visit our site via a link, the location of the  referral is captured. This information helps us determine where our customers come from. Browser Type - This information is captured to help optimize our site to match the latest technology used by our customers. Movements through our site - We keep track of the pages you visit to help us provide a more personalized experience.

Lastly, to improve our services, we may from time to time request some of our customers to complete a voluntary survey. Survey answers are confidential. If you do not wish to participate in a survey, simply decline participation when asked.

Client and Prospective Client Data
Huntleigh McGehee collects public and non-public Personal Information in an effort to evaluate, propose and place proper insurance coverage as well as other related services on behalf of our clients or prospective clients.  Most of this Personal Information comes directly from our clients and prospects in the form of applications for insurance or other communications with HM.  However, additional Personal Information may come from third-party resources such as governmental agencies, insurance companies and consumer credit reporting agencies. 

We collect only information intended to assist us in servicing the insurance-related needs of our clients and prospective clients.  Examples of Personal Information that may be collected include but are not limited to:

Information collected directly from customers such as name, address, phone number, social security number, history of health, income, etc. Information provide by other insurance brokers/agents. Information from third-party resources such as governmental agencies, insurance companies and consumer credit reporting agencies.

Safeguards in Place To Protect Your Data
HM maintains policies, procedures and safeguards to ensure the protection of your Personal Information.  We believe that standards outlined in federal regulations such as Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinic Health (HITECH) Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Gramm-Leach-Bliley (GLB) Act are the minimum necessary to accomplish this.  Therefore, HM implements physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with or exceed those mandated by federal law.  Access to these data are restricted to only HM staff servicing our customers’ needs or to those who provide general support to our organization.  All HM employees are trained on compliance with these standards on no less than an annual basis and are required to sign confidentiality agreements acknowledging their commitment to protecting your privacy.

What Information We Share and With Whom
Personal Information of our customers collected by HM is used for the sole purpose of servicing your needs.  Under no circumstances will Personal Information, both public and private, be sold to another entity.  Information shared with other organizations is limited to only those necessary to service your needs or as required/allowed by law.  Your information may be shared within HM only in an effort to identify other services that may be of interest to you.  Other instances in which your Personal Information may be shared include:

Upon request of customer to share Personal Information with an outside organization. In the event your account is transferred to another broker/agent. To comply with inquiries from government agencies, subpoenas, or to prevent fraud.

Changes to HM’s Privacy Policy
Any changes to HM’s Privacy Policy will be communicated as they occur.  In addition, HM will provide current customers with a current Privacy Policy annually.  While former customers of Huntleigh McGehee will no longer receive these notices, their Personal Information is protected in accordance with the current Privacy Policy.

Filing a Complaint
In the event you feel your Privacy Rights have been violated with respect to your Personal Health Information you may file a complaint directly with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.   In addition, complaints for any violations of the privacy of your Personal Information may be submitted directly to Huntleigh McGehee at the address below.
